Youth Weekend Activities Q&A

Here are some frequently asked questions regarding our youth weekend activities

Is there adult supervision?

-We always have at least one adult supervisor, but we strive for two adults over the age of 18. All supervisors have undergone full background checks and completed all required training. If no adults are available, we will cancel the weekend activities.

Where can I get event updates?

-You can check our Facebook page for the latest event updates. Please note that if there is a no driving rule during winter still in effect by 9:30 AM, we will cancel Saturday’s activities.

Safety Measures

-All volunteers are trained in basic safety precautions. Additionally, we always have a first aid kit on hand for easy access in case of emergencies.

Activities and Age Groups

- We acknowledge that our program serves a large age range of participants, and we strive to provide engaging activities for everyone. Our program includes 1 hour of structured activities followed by 3 hours of free time. Participation in activities is not mandatory. Participants can choose to engage in structured activities or enjoy free time as they wish. While we aim to accommodate various interests and abilities, it's important to note that not every activity will be suited for every age group. We encourage participants to participate in activities that resonate with them and their developmental stage.

What is the cost of participation?

-Participation in our weekend activities is typically free of charge. However, if there are any additional costs for specific activities or materials, we will communicate that in advance.

What should my child bring to the activities?

-We recommend that participants bring: -Comfortable clothing suitable for physical activities - A water bottle to stay hydrated -Any personal items they might need, such as medications or snacks - A positive attitude and a willingness to engage!

How do you handle behavioral issues?

-Our Volunteers are trained to manage behavioral issues in a constructive manner. We believe in promoting a positive environment, and we will address any concerns directly with the participant and communicate with parents if necessary.

Can parents volunteer for the activities?

-Parents can volunteer; however, they must complete all required training and undergo a background check before they are able to participate as volunteers. This ensures the safety and well-being of all participants.

What happens in case of bad weather?

-We monitor weather conditions closely. If severe weather is anticipated, we will notify via our Facebook page regarding any cancellations or changes to the schedule. Please note that if there is a no driving rule during winter still in effect by 9:30 AM, we will cancel Saturday’s activities.

If you have any other questions or specific concerns not addressed here, please don’t hesitate to reach out! We’re here to help and ensure a positive experience for both youth and parents.
