More Than Just Advocacy

YOLC is dedicated to supporting all youth in Lewis County. While our Peer Advocate program is a core part of what we do, we are also here for community engagement, safe hangouts, and connecting you to whatever resources you need.

YOLC is an independent organization, separate from the County Youth Bureau.

Professional Oversight

While our advocates are peers, they work within a professional framework, receiving regular supervision and ongoing training in ethics, confidentiality, and trauma-informed care.

For Families & Providers

Why Peer Advocacy Works

Teens often hesitate to open up to adults or authority figures. A Peer Advocate bridges that gap. By building trust through shared experience, we can effectively link youth to clinical services, improve school attendance, and increase family stability.

  • Reduces hospitalization rates and crisis events.
  • Increases engagement in traditional therapy.
  • Fosters self-advocacy and independence skills.
